Memorial set for man killed by flying tire on I-75

WEST CHESTER TWP. — Funeral arrangements have been announced for the 22-year-old college student killed Monday from injuries in an accident when a tire flew off a fully loaded gravel truck and hit his vehicle.

Around 9:15 a.m., Dylan Morrison, a junior elementary education major at the University of Cincinnati, was driving south on Interstate 75 just south of the Lockland split when the tire came off the truck on the opposite side of the interstate, bounced over the median and smashed into Morrison’s minivan.

A second vehicle also was hit by the detached tire. The accident remains under investigation.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Faith Bible Church, 8130 E. Kemper Road, Cincinnati. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Morrison worked at Walgreens on Reading Road in Mason.

He is survived by his parents Tim and Lisa (Day) Morrison; brother, Kyle Morrison; sister, Ashley Morrison; nephew, Zion Morrison; and girlfriend, Brittany Rupert. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A statement from Morrison’s parents reads, “In God’s providence, Dylan was taken from his earthly home to be with his heavenly father. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, and a devoted boyfriend. We will all miss him greatly.”

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Faith Bible Church.
