OSU student tweets to attacker on gay rights

An OSU student from Lebanon in Warren County is gaining worldwide attention for a tweet he sent to the person who punched him in the face and called him a derogatory name, all because he kissed his boyfriend near campus last week.

Cole Ledford tweeted a picture of his swollen cheek and black eye, along with a message expressing his love and pride for who he is. He apologized to the person who hit him, stating that his lifestyle must be threatening, and doesn’t allow the man to accept people for who they are.

Ledford’s tweet has gone viral and he’s receiving support from around the world.

On Ledford’s Facebook page, he has posted links to stories being written about his experience. Ledford expressed gratitude to all the support he has received, including from celebrities. Ledford is being credited for shining a light on gay rights.

Ledford also posted a picture of himself and his boyfriend, Jerad Williams, holding a sign that reads Love > Hate, #Loveis Louder.
