Police officer receives an award

Officer Amy Pedro was awarded Police Officer of the Year by the Kettering Noon Optimist club, through the National Optimist Clubs Respect for Law program. Pedro received the award on May 27, at the Presidential Banquet Center.

Police Officer of the Year is awarded to an officer who exceeds expectation as a patrol person. Pedro has participated in multiple drug busts within the last five years including a recent one in which she discovered thousands of dollars worth of cocaine and bad checks, according to a release from the city.
