Beavercreek’s schools were rated “Excellent,” while Fairborn and Xenia were ranked “Effective,” according to Ohio Department of Education preliminary report cards.

But not every school within those towns matched their district’s overall score, which is based on an intricate formula.

In Xenia, Arrowood Elementary and Central Middle School were rated “Effective,” while Simon Kenton and Tecumseh elementaries achieved “Excellent” ratings.

Cox, McKinley, Shaw and Spring Hill elementaries, plus Warner Middle School and Xenia High School were ranked in the “Continuous Improvement” category.

“I’m proud of what our staff has done with the conditions we’ve had to work under,” Xenia Superintendent Deobrah Piotrowski said.

In Beavercreek, Fairbrook Elementary earned an “Excellent with Distinction” score.

Main, Shaw and Valley elementaries, Ferguson and Ankeney middle schools and Beavercreek High School all were rated “Excellent.”

The lone exception in Beavercreek was Parkwood Elementary, which was ranked “Effective.”

In Fairborn, Baker Middle School and Fairborn Intermediate were ranked “Effective” while Fairborn Primary School and Fairborn High School were ranked “Excellent.”

Other county district-wide scores: Yellow Springs — “Excellent with Distinction”; Bellbrook-Sugarcreek — “Excellent”; Cedar Cliff — “Excellent”; Greeneview — “Effective”.
