Schools set open enrollment dates

The Troy City Schools has announced application periods for intradistrict and interdistrict open enrollment. Open enrollment allows students to request a transfer to a school or district other than the one in which they are assigned.

Intradistrict allows parents of students to choose an elementary school that is outside of the student’s area of residence. Interdistrict allows students from adjacent districts only to attend the Troy City Schools without tuition cost.

Requesting open enrollment does not ensure approval because class size is considered in accepting applications.

Parents interested in obtaining an application for open enrollment should contact the Board of Education at 500 N. Market St. or by calling 937-332-6000. The application periods for intradistrict enrollment will be May 1-30 and Aug. 1-8 and for interdistrict June 2-13. The order of return of applications is one criteria used in consideration of applications. NANCY BOWMAN, CONTRIBUTING WRITER
