Vandalia police temporarily change non-emergency phone number

Vandalia police are advising the public to use an alternative non-emergency phone number as the police communication center experiences technical difficulties.

The department said all of their emergency lines are working properly, according to a release, but asks non-emergency callers to dial 937-898-5869 in order to reach dispatchers.

Callers are advised the original non-emergency line at 937-898-5868 is not properly working.

Vandalia’s Internet Technology Department and an unidentified phone company are working to quickly resolve the issue affecting the communication center.
