“During this period, please refrain from contacting any students (outside of your own family) regarding all matters related to education and your position with Yellow Springs schools, unless prior permission is obtained,” the letter reads.
Basora advised Krier that by March 16, he needed to return all work-related keys, key fobs and devices. Basora also advised him to schedule a time over the subsequent weekend to collect his personal belongings from the school.
The same day Basora’s letter was sent to Krier, Basora wrote a separate letter informing district parents of Krier’s change-in-status with the district.

In the letter to parents, Basora wrote that for the past week, “Dr. Krier and his wife have been working through a personal family issue that is demanding their full attention. He will continue to be out of the office for an extended period of time that could potentially go until the end of the school year.”
Krier was hired as the principal to the high school and middle school in 2009 and previously worked as a teacher in schools in the Columbus area, according to documents in his personnel file with the district. He is currently working under a three-year contract with the district that is set to expire in July 2019, according to district records.
Krier’s salary is set at $104,424 as of August 2016 when his current contract went into effect, according to district records.
Krier could not be reached for comment.
