Former Dayton Flyer signs 10-day contract with Atlanta Hawks

Former Dayton guard Jordan Sibert has played in Europe and G League since graduating from UD in 2015

Jordan Sibert could become the first player from the Dayton Flyers 2014 Elite Eight team to play in the NBA after signing a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday.

The Hawks play the Detroit Pistons on Friday and the Phoenix Suns on Saturday in Atlanta in their first games after the all-star break. Sibert will wear No. 8.

Sibert, a 2015 UD graduate and native of Cincinnati, has averaged 15.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 34 games with the Erie Bayhawks in the NBA G League. He’s shooting 42.3 percent from 3-point range and ranks third in the league in 3-pointers made (112).

Sibert started his pro career with Erie in 2015 before heading to Europe, where he played with PAOK BC (Greece), Mitteldeutscher BC (Germany) and Fraport Skyliners (Germany). He returned to Erie, Atlanta's G League affiliate, this season.

Sibert played two seasons at Ohio State and scored 1,030 points in two seasons at Dayton. He ranks 44th in school history.

Sibert would become the 21st Dayton basketball alum to play in the NBA and the first to debut since Charles Cooke in 2017.
