The following levies and issues will likely appear on ballots, pending certification from their county boards of election.
Montgomery County
In Montgomery County, Dayton Metro Library will seek a 1 mill, 5-year levy to cover current expenses. Library officials have said that without this levy, they will need to cut the library’s budget by 20%.
Five Rivers Metroparks will also have a 1 mill levy on the ballot, with the property tax spanning 10 years to cover current expenses at the park system. If voters approve the proposed levy this fall, MetroParks will have about $14.2 million annually for 10 years to go toward its backlog of maintenance needs, addressing those needs by 2037, the organization said.
Centerville Schools will be asking voters, for a third time, to decide on a 3.9 mill, permanent levy for current expenses at the district. The initiative to surrender corporate powers could be returning to the ballot this fall after narrowly failing last year. The item is a citizen-led petition, according to the Warren County Board of Elections, and it comes after an admissions tax was imposed by the village on land used for the Renaissance Festival.
Voters in Harveysburg last fall also rejected two 2.5 mill levies for police and general operating expenses proposed by the village.
