Can you ID Salem Jewelers robbery suspect?

Dayton police today released surveillance video images of a gunman in last week’s Salem Jewelers robbery.

The suspect went into the store, 523 Salem Ave., around noon and asked to see some jewelry. While assisting this customer, the employee turned around, and when the employee turned back the suspect was pointing a gun. He demanded cash and jewelry and then left, according to Dayton police.

The suspect is described as a man in his early to mid-20s who stands between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet. He was seen leaving in the passenger side of a silver four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler 200.

FIRST REPORT, July 22

A jewelry store at 523 Salem Avenue was reportedly robbed a little after noon today.

Police responded but the robber had already fled the store.

The robber was described on scanner traffic as a male wearing a white shirt with lettering on it and basketball shorts. He had a thin build and appeared to be in his mid 20s.

Police continue to investigate the crime.
