Drug arrests lead police to robbery victim

A traffic stop that led to two drug arrests Tuesday also led police to an unreported robbery.

Travis Underwood, 25, and Victor Washington II, 24, were booked into the Montgomery County Jail Tuesday evening pending charges of drug possession.

They had been pulled over on Findlay Street for illegal window tint and police had discovered Washington attempting to swallow a bag of suspected crack cocaine, according to a police report. He is also facing a charge of tampering with evidence.

While booking the men into the jail, an officer found a check in Washington’s pocket that was made out to Underwood, according to the report.

The check belonged to a woman who had recently reported her truck stolen.

Police contacted her and she revealed that Underwood and Washington had robbed her on two different occassions

According to the report, she said the two forced their way into her house Friday night demanding money from her son because of a drug debt. She said they threatened her and forced her to write out a check for $650.

On Tuesday, prior to the traffic stop, the men had come back and another check was demanded for $380, according to the report.

Felony robbery counts were added to each man’s list of possible charges.
