On Tuesday at sentencing, Judge Donald Oda II ordered the destruction of three computers seized by the Ohio Bureau of Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation during the investigation.
Oda said he was particularly concerned by the possibility that the porn found on Minner’s computer, described as involving sex with children younger than 10 years old and violent in nature, could have been shared with others through a peer-to-peer computer network.
Minner said he suffered from drug and alcohol problems and apologized for his crimes in a statement to the judge.
“I’ve lost almost everything I have because of it,” he said.

Minner’s lawyer, Martin Hubbell, said there was no evidence Minner shared or even realized he could share the files and pointed out Minner had no prior criminal record.
Assistant Prosecutor Travis Vieux said Minner was distributing the porn and deserved eight years in prison.
In November, Minner pleaded guilty to the second-degree felonies in exchange for dismissal of fourth-degree felonies charging him with possession of the child porn.
