Middletown police reports

April 30

Five gel caps of heroin were found in a fuse box in a car that was stopped in Trenton. Middletown’s K-9 dog, Gunner, discovered the drugs. Devon Doyle, 29, was charged with drug abuse/heroin.

May 1

A person in a car stopped at the corner of Waneta Avenue and Yankee Road was found to have crack cocaine in their possession. Twenty-two bags of crack cocaine, with a total weight of 18.35 grams, were found. Alexis Woods was arrested for trafficking drugs, crack cocaine and turn signal violation.

May 14

A yellow gold diamond ring, valued at $1,200, and a $600 opal were reported stolen from a residence in the 2200 block of Tytus Avenue.

May 16

Two flat screen TVs, valued at $1,800, were reported stolen from a residence in the 4400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard. Police said someone entered the home through a rear window. The owner said the home also was broken into last week.

A man left El Rancho Grande, 6601 Terhune Drive, without paying his $13.48 tab. When contacted at his home by Middletown police, the man said he was on the phone at the restaurant and he forgot to pay his bill. He returned to the restaurant and paid the bill. Police told the man if it happened again, he would be arrested.

A Toshiba laptop computer, valued at $520, was reported stolen from a residence in the 500 block of Garfield Street.

Someone broke into a detached garage and stole a chain saw and eight fishing poles, all valued at $1,000, in the 100 block Harrison Street.

May 17

Two shrubs were reported stolen from the flower bed at the United Dairy Farmers, 101 N. Verity Parkway.

A woman said someone stole $200 from her purse while she was in the doctor’s office. A woman working in the office said she saw a woman in the waiting room walk into the bathroom, then leave without seeing the doctor. Later, that woman was arrested for theft.

A hanging plant, valued at $10, was reported stolen off a pole in the side yard of a house in the 700 block of 15th Avenue.

A lawn mower was stolen from the front porch of a residence in the 1900 block of Hill Avenue.

An employee of Innovative Photo inside the Towne Mall told police that someone pried into the photo booth and stole $69.

A Middletown man was arrested as he tried to break into two downtown businesses. Police said Charles Perry, 51, of Granada Avenue, attempted to break into Diver’s Garden Center and Dillman Foods. When Perry was found in the area of Central Avenue and Edgewood Street, he was wearing dirty gloves and glass was found under his gym shoes, police said. He was unable to enter either store, police said. He was charged with two counts of attempted breaking and entering.

A wallet that contained $100 in cash, credit cards, and a push mower were reported stolen from a house in the 3000 block of Omaha Street.

May 18

A Toro mower, valued at $400, was reported stolen from a residence in the 600 block of Stanley Street.

Someone left their car unlocked and when they returned from shopping at Dollar General, their laptop computer, valued at $487, was gone.

A person who lives in the 1800 block of Dix Road said they mailed a check, but someone opened the letter and ripped the stamp off the envelope.

Someone tried to steal several car radiators from the R&B Auto Salvage, 2712 Oxford State Road.

Golf clubs and push mower were reported stolen from a shed in the 600 block of Garfield Street.
