2 crashes along I-75 south created traffic and has now reopened

Two separate crashes temporarily caused traffic delay along Interstate 75 and both lanes have since reopened.

One car flipped flipped over that was involved in a four-vehicle crash around 7:55 a.m. on I-75 South at Nicholas Road/Edwin C. Moses Boulevard, according to the Montgomery County Regional Center.

A two-vehicle crash occurred on I-75 South near West Third Street, according to dispatch. Ohio Department of Transportation Cameras showed major traffic backups sometime after 7:30 a.m.

Dispatch confirmed injuries and that people taken to local hospitals.

The cause of the crashes is not yet known.

I-75 south initially was closed near U.S. 35, according to a Twitter post from the Dayton Police Department. It has since reopened, police said in a Twitter post update. I-75 South initially was closed at Nicholas Road/Edwin C. Moses Boulevard.

Dispatch confirmed both lanes have reopened.

The crashes are under investigation.
