What is a Total Digital Access subscription and what are the benefits?
Total Digital Access provides value to our newspaper subscribers by making all of our quality, in-depth news and information accessible on a number of digital products in addition to our print edition.  The Total Digital Access Subscription includes all of our digital products for use on laptops/PCs, smart phones and tablets, and can be combined with delivery of the print edition on the days you select.   It’s One Subscription, Total Access.

Why are you making this change?
We are adding these exciting new products to complement our print edition and make our content more accessible to our subscribers with digital devices.  It also enables us to offer more subscription package options to match your lifestyle and allows readers to choose how to read our quality news and information.

I'm an existing subscriber; will my subscription rate increase?
No. We will honor your current print rate and you will have total digital access as part of your subscription. If you choose a digital-only subscription or reduce the number of days you receive the printed newspaper, standard market rates will apply.  If at any time you decide to re-subscribe to the print product, the standard market rate will apply.

Will I continue to receive a home delivered print edition?
Yes.  With the new subscription model, you can continue to receive home delivery of the printed edition on the days of the week you have subscribed, plus have the added benefit of access to all of our digital products 7-days a week - included with your paid subscription.

What does a digital subscription include?
Your newspaper is now delivered in more ways.  Your digital subscription includes full access to our in-depth local news coverage on your tablet, laptop/PC and smartphone. Includes products for use on iPad® and iPhone®, Android™, NOOK® and Kindle Fire™ devices.

What do I need to do to get access to these digital products?
If you are a current subscriber you will need to set up your digital login username and password.  To do this, visit DaytonDailyNews.com/activate. If you are interested in becoming a subscriber, visit DaytonDailyNews.com/subscribe.

How do I activate my Total Digital Access subscription?

Once I order a subscription, when can I start using the digital benefits that are included?
To start using your new digital products, click on the link that was sent to you in a confirmation e-mail when you purchased your subscription. If you do not receive the e-mail you can login in at daytondailynews.com or call Customer Care at 1-888-397-6397.  If you are already a print subscriber, go to DaytonDailyNews.com/activate and you will be prompted to set up an account by creating a login and password to register.  You will receive a link to download the app(s) on your device.  

How much does a digital subscription cost?

Can I get single day access to one of your digital products?

Can I get print on some days and digital on others?
Yes.  We have a number of subscription packages available to best match your lifestyle.  All of our digital subscriptions give you total digital access every day of the week.  They can be combined with most of our print subscriptions which offer a variety of delivery options.  You can also select a digital-only subscription.

Can I get a digital-only subscription?
Yes.

Will you continue to offer home delivery of the printed newspaper 7 days a week?
Yes.

How are Total Digital Access subscriptions billed?
If you receive the printed newspaper, you can choose to be invoiced for a specific term or the convenient EZ Pay automatic payment plan option.  A digital-only subscription is charged monthly and is required to be on EZ Pay.  Subscribers can manage their account as part of the subscription including updates to billing information, credit card information and an option to add print delivery to their subscription.

What is the cancellation and refund policy
You can cancel at any time.  Subscriptions automatically continue unless customer service is notified.  You will be refunded for the unused portion of your subscription.

Does my login work across all the newspaper’s digital products?
Yes.  Once you register your account with us at daytondailynews.com and set up your user name and password, you can use the same login to work across all our digital products.

What do I do if my household owns more than two digital devices?  Will we both be able to use the same login?
You may have up to 5 registered users at your household.   Each user should visit DaytonDailyNews.com/activate to set up their user name and password.  Each user will be able to access any digital products included in your subscription.

When I go on vacation, can I put my subscription on hold?
Yes.  Visit daytondailynews.com or call customer service at 1-888-397-6397.    We will suspend delivery of your print edition however your digital subscription will remain active while you are on vacation for up to 30 days.  Remember that as a subscriber you can access our newspaper on your digital devices when you are out of town.

What is MyDaytonDailyNews.com?

MyDaytonDailyNews.com is a new premium website designed for readers, exclusively for subscribers. The site offers total access to the best in-depth local news coverage and investigative reports. Get news where and when you want it: from your computer, tablet or smartphone. MyDaytonDailyNews.com automatically adjusts formats, providing you the best reading experience.

Does it include obituaries?
Yes, you can read the obituaries by selecting Obituaries from the menu list under Local, or by clicking the Today’s paper link.

Can I share on social media?
Yes, you can share articles via email, Facebook and Twitter but a subscription will be required to read the full article. 

Does it update throughout the day?
Yes, news stories are updated throughout the day. 

Can I visit DaytonDailyNews.com for free?

Yes. DaytonDailyNews.com remains a free web site, providing breaking news, weather, local news, classifieds and shopping information.

Can I get single day access to one of your digital products?

What is the ePaper app?
Total access to the day’s newspaper- all news stories and ads plus the comics, obituaries and more.  Page through each section, just like the printed paper.  Works on tablets including iPad®, Android™, Kindle Fire™ and NOOK®.

ePaper is also accessible on any laptop/PC or desktop with an internet connection.

What’s included?

Do I need to be connected to the internet to use?
Yes.  But you can download it to read later when you don’t have an Internet connection if you are using an iPad (Example: on an airplane).  However, Android™, Kindle Fire™, NOOK®, laptop/PC and desktop users must have an Internet connection. 

Does it include obituaries?
Yes. 

Does it include the comics?
Yes. 

Is the font adjustable?
Yes. The app has simple to use, reader-friendly formats and adjustable font size.

Does it include the advertising inserts?
Today’s Paper includes all the ads that are printed within the newspaper, plus some digital-only advertising.  To view the advertising inserts, click on the link to “Find & Save” on the home page. 

What time does the online edition become available each day?
Online edition of the daily paper is available at approximately 6:00 a.m. each day.  

Does it update throughout the day?
Today’s Paper is an online newspaper. While it may have more up-to-date content than the print version, it does not continually change throughout the day. It is updated with breaking news and top stories of the day. 

Are old issues archived and searchable?
Yes. 

Can I share on social media?
You can share stories via email, Facebook and Twitter. 

Can I access back issues?
You can search through issues from the past 7 days.  Additionally, there is a link to archives going back a few years. 

How do I get access on my laptop/PC or desktop if I have a subscription which includes digital products?
If you’re a current subscriber, go to www.DaytonDailyNews.com/customerservice. Use the same login credentials that you use to manage your subscription. 

How do I get a login?
If you are already a paid subscriber visit DaytonDailyNews.com/activate to set up your username and password.

How do I access it on my iPad®?
There are two steps.  First, if you have not yet set up a username and password for you digital subscriptions, you will need to visit DaytonDailyNews.com/activate.  If you have previously set up login credentials, you can skip this step.   Second, go to the Apple app store and download Dayton app labeled “ePaper.”  When you launch the app for the first time, it will prompt you to enter your username and password.  It will store this information and you will only be asked to enter it periodically.

How do I access it on my Android™, Kindle Fire™ or NOOK® or smartphone?
If you have not yet set up a username and password for your digital subscriptions, you will need to visit DaytonDailyNews.com/activate.  If you have previously set up login credentials, use those.   Then visit  DaytonDailyNews.com/products to get the link for your device.

How much does it cost?
It can be purchased by itself or in combination with a print subscription.  Visit DaytonDailyNews.com/subscribe for more information.

Can I access it if I am not a print subscriber?
Yes, but access requires at least a digital subscription. Subscribe at DaytonDailyNews.com/subscribe. 

What do I do if my ePaper app on iPad® is moving slow or acting weird?
You may need to clear your cache and cookies as follows: 

What if I have cleared my app cache and my ePaper app is still freezing or moving slow?
The most likely cause is a lack of memory.  We find that older-generation tablets have a more difficult time running the news apps.    We recommend restarting your device. If that doesn’t work try these steps:

What is the Breaking News app?
The Breaking News app is a free product available for download to your smartphone including iPhone ® or Android ™ phones.   The app delivers breaking news throughout the day with up-to-date news feeds, video, photo galleries, weather information and radar, traffic information and more.   

Does it update throughout the day?
Yes. 

Can I access back issues?
N/A.

How do I access the news app / log in?
