🏫 School financial challenges: Local school districts are looking at a lot of red numbers in their budgets as they plan out their four-year financial forecasts, which are signaling that their expenses will soon be outmatching their revenues. We learn from Samantha Wildow’s story that, while recent property tax reforms at the state level may be a welcome relief to homeowners experiencing their own financial struggles, school leaders say those reforms are no help to their districts’ future deficit spending.

🗳️ Election preview: Montgomery County voters will decide on several new property tax levies and other issues during the May 5 primary election, and this month the Montgomery County Board of Elections certified issues and candidate petitions for the spring election. We have a list of issues for you in our story from Sydney Dawes.

🏀Flyers and RedHawks win : The Flyers beat George Washington 68-66 and the RedHawks are still unbeaten after a 69-67 win over Western Michigan.
